INDIANAPOLIS—State Senator John Broden (D-South Bend) released the following statement regarding the passage of Senate Bill (SB) 109, a bill concerning hunting preserves:
“While I personally abhor the entire concept of hunting preserves and canned hunting, the court rulings from last year made it clear that these activities were legal. Without SB 109, anyone could open a hunting preserve of any size with absolutely no regulations of any kind. My preference would be to ban this activity altogether, but efforts to do that in the past have failed. Thus, I supported SB 109 so that there would at least be some regulation of this activity.”
Sen. Broden represents Indiana State Senate District 10, which includes the cities of South Bend and Mishawaka, as well as the University of Notre Dame. For more information on Sen.
