INDIANAPOLIS – On Wednesday, the governor signed Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 632 co-authored by State Senator Eddie Melton (D-Gary) into law. This piece of legislation requires more frequent testing of radon, a harmful chemical to humans, in our schools.
Sen. Melton gave the following statement on the signing of SEA 632:
“Our children spend a lot of their time in school, and I am proud to have helped enact these recommendations to ensure that our students are safe from the devastating effects of radon,” Sen. Melton said. “Radon has been a silent killer for years, and now that we are educated on the dangers of this chemical, we are taking steps towards reducing its impact on our children.”
