INDIANAPOLIS- State Senator Frank Mrvan (D-Hammond) presented a house concurrent resolution to the Senate on Monday honoring veterans Dennis Shults, Bill Emerson, Ernie Dillon, Patrick O’Donnell and Don Shults.
“These men have fought proudly for their country and deserve to be recognized,” Sen. Mrvan said. “They have made great sacrifices and are continuing to give back.”
In 2004, the five men began a television program in Lake County called “Veteran’s Views” and brought the show to radio in Hammond in 2009. The 90-minute show was an outreach to veterans and the community using a call-in format.
“The radio show has touched many people’s lives, especially veterans,” Sen. Mrvan said. “I am honored to have presented this resolution to these men today.”
Audiences all over the world have enjoyed listening to the radio show which was presented with the Excellence in Communication award in 2011 by the American Legion Department of Indiana. All members of the Senate were joined on the resolution to honor the veterans and their accomplishments.
Mrvan represents Indiana Senate District 1 which includes portions of Lake County. District 1 communities include Hammond, Munster, Highland, Dyer, Schererville and Griffith as well as two precincts in Crown Point. For more information on Sen.
