INDIANAPOLIS – This week Representative Pete Visclosky announced his intention to retire from his long-held Congressional seat in Northwest Indiana (NWI). The Senate Democrats’ NWI Delegation, consisting of State Senators Karen Tallian (D-Ogden Dunes), Eddie Melton (D-Gary), Lonnie Randolph (D-East Chicago) and Frank Mrvan (D-Hammond), had the following response to Rep. Visclosky’s retirement:

“We all congratulate Rep. Visclosky on a successful tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is truly a foundation of leadership for Indiana and represented all of us to the best of his ability in Washington D.C. Rep. Visclosky had an unwavering dedication to the people of NWI and worked closely with members of both parties to get important projects completed in the region.

“He made Hoosier workers and families his top priorities for over 30 years, and we are sure that even out of Congress, he will find ways to serve his community. Rep. Visclosky, you are an institution. Thank you for your service to Indiana.”
