INDIANAPOLIS – On Monday, the Senate adopted Senate Resolution (SR) 29 by voice vote. SR 29 condemns anti-Asian and Pacific Islander violence which has been on the rise since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The resolution is authored by State Senator J.D. Ford (D-Indianapolis) and State Senator Shelli Yoder (D-Bloomington).

Sen. Ford issued the following statement upon the adoption of the resolution: “Anti-Asian and Pacific Islander hate crimes have been on the rise for since the onset of the pandemic, and as a state that prides itself on Hoosier hospitality and a place where all are welcome, I’m glad to see this resolution adopted in the Senate.”

Senator Ford would like to thank the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum, and in particular their Indiana Chapter, for advocating vociferously on behalf of this resolution.
